Lustrous Carson City Gold 1875-CC Double Eagle Gem Slider
In 1875, the Carson City Mint produced 111,151 double eagles, with a $1.5 million bullion deposit made by the Consolidated Virginia Mining Company in June of that year contributing gold to the Nevada branch mint. Many of these coins entered regional commerce and served for years before additional examples were shipped abroad, often returning heavily worn. Approximately 3,337 coins are estimated to survive today. The coin offered here is graded AU58 grade and bathed in rich, natural yellow-gold color that flashes with strong remaining mint luster. The PCGS Price Guide is $8,500, while the CAC Price Guide is $8,250. The most recent PCGS/CAC example realized $8,700 09/23 HA.
