This 1860 Copper Nickel Type Indian Head Cent showcases impeccable condition, with superb luster and flawless surfaces. Despite its current high grade, it might have qualified for an even higher grade under less stringent grading standards, at the very least a 67+ in our opinion. With an older holder no barcode, Eagle Eye Photo Seal (EEPS) endorsement and CAC approval all validating its exceptional quality. Dynamic and visually striking, this coin stands as one of the finest examples of its type and date. This is a strong candidate for a registry set high end collection.

This inaugural release for the 1860-1864 Copper Nickel Type of Indian Head Cent is slightly rarer in mint state compared to the 1862 and 1863 counterparts. Usually, 1860 coins exhibit a strong strike and noticeably better luster compared to the 1859 counterparts. This specimen preserves its initial frosty luster, boasting a rich honey gold hue that has remained unchanged over the years. This example is fully struck, resulting in well-defined features on the coin especially the headdress. This example has a CAC population of only four, with none graded higher, 2 of which are 67+. Notably, an MS67+ CAC fetched $50,400 in 01/21 HA. This coin stacks up in quality to the aforementioned piece and its unique feature is its absolute lack of hits, marks or spots noticed.
