An Undervalued No Motto Eagle with Rich Original Orange-Gold Color, CAC Population of Just One at the Grade.
Struck at the Philadelphia Mint during the great antebellum expansion fueled by California Gold Rush bullion, this No Motto Liberty Head eagle represents the classic large-denomination gold coinage that powered mid-19th century banking, wholesale commerce, and international settlement. The issue saw a substantial mintage of 121,701 pieces, yet the estimated surviving population has dwindled to only about 337 coins in all grades, illustrating how extensively these eagles circulated in real economic use before being melted or lost over time. This example retains exceptional historical integrity. Both sides are draped in rich, original medium orange-gold color with subtle deeper copper-gold accents near the devices and legends, while traces of satin-to-softly frosted luster persist in the protected recesses, reinforcing the originality confirmed by CAC. Particularly important for advanced collectors, the CAC population stands at just 1 in XF40 with 65 pieces higher. Only 1 CAC example sold in 2026 which was an AU58 PCGS CAC for $4,148 09/26 HA, 10% over CAC Price. Safe to say we feel this is an undervalued $10 Eagle.
