1839/6 1C VF35 PCGS CAC
1839/6 1C VF35 PCGS CAC
Coronet Head Cent
The 1839/6 N-1 Coronet Head Cent is a highly desirable key overdate that pairs strong variety significance with excellent originality, and this VF35 BN CAC example presents exactly the kind of wholesome, collector-grade quality advanced large cent specialists seek. Both sides display smooth, glossy deep chocolate-brown surfaces with absolute perfect surface. The noted thin horizontal die crack from the eye toward the dentils between stars 3 and 4 is clearly visible as a desirable middle-state diagnostic and of all for the issue. With no CAC auction record in VF35, a PCGS Price Guide value of $7,500, and a CAC population of 1 and only 5 finer that quickly rises to mid 6 figure in UNC. Not to mention an AU55 PCGS CAC sold for $64,625 07/15 ST and a non-CAC VF35 sold for for $7,050 02/17 GO. In surrounding grade the only CAC example that sold was a lower grade VF30 PCGS CAC that sold from the Twin Leaf collection 11 years ago for $6,462 07/2015 SB. Based on that sale and how VF35 PCGS Price Guide is much higher, this VF35 PCGS CAC should sell for at least $9,250 today. Next CAC example would be a XF45 PCGS CAC and that last sold 12 years ago. Safe to say we cant recommend this coin enough.
